Hello, friend. I'm so very glad you're here.

My name is Sarah and I have been in a love affair with words my entire life. I started speaking in full sentences at just 18 months old and I've been sharing my words with the world ever since. This is a space where I talk about my favorite things — faith, life, relationships, and simplicity, with books and recommendations on the perfect red lipstick thrown in for good measure.

I am a follower of Christ, first and foremost. He is the reason I live and breathe and ultimately the one for Whom I create.  Beyond that, I'm a bit of an enigma — a creative at heart with a serious love for organization and spreadsheets, a free-spirited wanderer with an inclination for deep roots and a place to call home, a minimalist bibliophile with heart for simple living and an overflowing bookshelf, a good girl with a rebel heart, and someone who never fits properly into a personality test category. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm a little bit all over the place and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I began blogging in 2008 because a friend of mine said I should. In the years since, this space has ebbed, flowed, and gone through some pretty drastic changes, sort of like the rest of my life. I grew up as a military brat but we ultimately settled in Northern Virginia, just outside DC, where I spent my middle and high school years and returned to after college.

On January 1, 2013, I prayed the smallest and biggest prayer of my entire life — Lord, teach me how to trust You.

In the years since, life has completely flipped upside down in the hardest and best ways possible. I haven't lived in the same place for more than 12 months in a decade and I've somewhat unwillingly learned to embrace the adventure, lack of roots, and perpetual reminder that this world is not my home.

These days, I hang out in Northern Virginia, where I run my own small business, share about my journey toward simple living, and talk about books far more than most of my friends probably like.

My philosophy is that life is a gift meant to be celebrated, Tuesday morning should be as memorable as Saturday night, and nothing boosts your confidence like the perfect red lipstick.

Thank you for stopping by. I'm so very glad you're here!
